The fate of The Real Housewives of New Jersey
seems murky more than ever amid reports that Bravo has put filming of the new season on hold. The production suspension was reportedly due the void left by Siggy Flicker which producers are still trying to fill.
"Filming was supposed to start on February 1, and nothing has happened," a show insider revealed to Radar
Flicker announced her exit at the end of season eight, citing family, growing business and other projects as her reason. However, she also claimed to be a victim of bad editing. Though RHONJ still has Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, and Danielle Staub, the network is still on the hunt to find Flicker's replacement or the show could be in jeopardy of cancellation.
"A new woman hasn't been hired yet, so production is on hold. And producers are still threatening to cancel the whole show!" the source said.
Giudice, whose husband Joe remains behind bars, is allegedly pushing for filming to kick off.
"Teresa desperately needs the Bravo money, she wants to start filming as soon as possible," the source added.
Producers also reportedly told the remaining ladies that they had to get the ratings-challenged series "out of the gutter."
"Bravo has made it clear to Teresa, Melissa and Dolores that there needs to be a better season with the new woman or women, but they haven't found anyone yet," the insider dished. "So, the show is on hold and who knows if or when it will be back on!"
Do you think RHONJ is in danger of cancellation? Who do you think should replace Flicker? Is it time for the show to end?
