Rachel Lindsay is about to begin her journey to find love (or a reasonable, TV-friendly facsimile thereof) on The Bachelorette season 13. More than 30 men will soon be vying for the beautiful lawyer's heart. One will, most likely, win it.

What can fans expect when the men arrive at the mansion to woo Rachel in the premiere episode? Keep reading to find out.

The Elephant in the Room

Rachel is the first African-American Bachelorette, and that's not nothing in season 13. Racial diversity is everywhere in the mansion in the premiere episode. But it is clearly not something to be spoken of directly.

There are a few offhand remarks about the new normal on the show. One suitor remarks on the diversity of the men (while all hot and hunky guys, the shades of skin skew darker than your average season.) The one (white) suitor who joked about "going black" when he appeared on "After the Final Rose" last season wants to talk about how awkward that was.

That's it though. Chris Harrison clearly wants to focus on Rachel being historic and beloved, but the reasons for this are not part of the premiere episode's narratives.

So Many Men...

The elaborate mating ritual that is The Bachelorette can never be complete without a few clashing egos and a whole lot of preening. It is honestly shocking that, when 30-plus men go into battle to win one woman, the shirts don't just come off. You can see these guys wanting to flex muscles and take a measuring stick into the bathroom to prove just how manly they are.

In some cases, it's adorable. In others, the courtship ritual of the Wild Dude can get a little icky.

AJ the Dummy

Photos released by ABC before the Bachelorette premiere made it clear that one of the men, Andrew, brings along a little friend for his introduction to Rachel. That friend is AJ (Andrew Junior), a large doll that may or may not be a ventriloquist's dummy.

The premiere does not make it clear whether or not AJ will be sticking around (regardless of Andrew's status as the show moves forward.) What the premiere does make clear is that the producers of The Bachelorette had way, way too much fun playing up the creep factor of this seriously spooky doll.

Confidence Is Key

One thing is clear from the premiere episode of The Bachelorette: Rachel loves confident men. Fortunately for her, there is confidence all over the mansion throughout this initial installment.

It works out well for some of the guys -- the recipient of the First Impression Rose is particularly successful with his confident attitude. As for the others ... Let's just say that confidence can be a double-edged sword, especially when testosterone and alcohol enter into the mix.

Here for the Wrong Reasons

Those Bachelorette viewers who just love the scandal of a suitor who's on the show for the "wrong reasons" will not need to wait long for the allegations to fly. One of the ladies from Nick's season of The Bachelor starts the "wrong reasons" rumors about a particular suitor within the first few minutes of the premiere.

Fans will have plenty of opportunity to decide whether or not they agree on the nefarious nature of the man in question.

It's best not to explain this. You just need to experience what this means. Please be advised, however, that you may need to detox thoroughly after exposure to the horror that is waboom.
